2012 Literary/Art Contest entries revealed
Title IX is celebrating a birthday in 2012. Since it was passed as law in 1972, the opportunities for girls and women in education and athletics have soared, and the girls playing for Starlings Volleyball Clubs USD are no exception.
In advance of the 2012 National Tournament and Literary/Art Contest, the Starlings community was asked: “Title IX: How has it changed my world?”

The Starlings Literary/Art Contest debuted at the 2000 National Championship and has proven to be the highlight of each season since. All girls in a Starlings program are invited to submit artistic and literary works in a variety of categories speaking to a single theme.
The categories are:
Literary: Essay (1,000 to 2,000 words) | Poetry (no limit on length)
Art: Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Photography
Prizes: $1,000 in cash (to be presented at Nationals)
