Toledo Starlings fundraise for Haiti trip

By · June 6, 2013 · Filed in Club News · No Comments »

Note from Byron: Toledo Starlings will send a team to Haiti next summer. Here is an update on their fundraising.

Toledo StarlingsWe had a great Celebrity Wait fundraiser last Wednesday. Had 175 guests at the restaurant and made enough to get our team to Haiti. Michele and LaKesia’s girls unfortunately can’t make it this year. My team of 7 are looking forward to the Haiti trip. We’re getting our immunizations on Saturday. Attaching the pic of the Toledo Starlings girls and coaches (except Dee Dee) that will be traveling to Haiti. Also sending the pic of the couple that won the silent bidding war for one of the volleyballs that Karch and the USA Women’s National Team signed and donated for the event. This one alone went for $175!

See you at Nationals.

It seems the following comment by our Starlings club director from Indianapolis, Michelle Brittain-Watts says it best:

“What a wonderful day, the Director’s Convention 2013! So much excitement and passion for the cause! Stay strong and focused, the reward is greater than the struggle!”

Starlings boys program to launch in San Diego

By · November 15, 2012 · Filed in Club News · No Comments »

After 16 years of building the largest Junior Volleyball Club in the nation, exclusively serving girls, we are now going to include boys in the program. The effort will be partnered with USA Volleyball with the initial tournament to be held in San Diego in December 2012.

The pilot program for the first year will concentrate in Southern California with tournaments being held in San Diego. The plan is to expand to other areas in 2013.
