USA Women assist new Anaheim Starlings

By · August 19, 2013 · Filed in Club News · No Comments »

80 Junior High girls in Anaheim came out to the American Sports Center this spring to participate in the first Starlings Anaheim volleyball program. Anaheim is the training home of the USA Women’s National Team and Head Coach Karch Kiraly thought it would be a good idea for the players to give something back to the community that generously hosts them. The reaction from the participating girls has been overwhelming and the program has also generated newspaper articles and the recognition of the City of Anaheim.

Toledo Starlings fundraise for Haiti trip

By · June 6, 2013 · Filed in Club News · No Comments »

Note from Byron: Toledo Starlings will send a team to Haiti next summer. Here is an update on their fundraising.

Toledo StarlingsWe had a great Celebrity Wait fundraiser last Wednesday. Had 175 guests at the restaurant and made enough to get our team to Haiti. Michele and LaKesia’s girls unfortunately can’t make it this year. My team of 7 are looking forward to the Haiti trip. We’re getting our immunizations on Saturday. Attaching the pic of the Toledo Starlings girls and coaches (except Dee Dee) that will be traveling to Haiti. Also sending the pic of the couple that won the silent bidding war for one of the volleyballs that Karch and the USA Women’s National Team signed and donated for the event. This one alone went for $175!

See you at Nationals.
