Starlings directors convention wraps in SD

It seems the following comment by our Starlings club director from Indianapolis, Michelle Brittain-Watts says it best:

“What a wonderful day, the Director’s Convention 2013! So much excitement and passion for the cause! Stay strong and focused, the reward is greater than the struggle!”

Another Directors Convention in the books

Another year, another great Starlings directors’ convention.

About 50 Starlings people came from places as far away as New York City, Florida, Omaha and Dallas to share ideas and stories of Starlings clubs. The morning was filled with the stirring reviews of each club and their respective challenges and work at home. The afternoon featured perennial sage, John Kessel, fundraising by Michelle Brittain-Watts, and website design and maintenance by Nicole Vargas.

Another highlight was to have our two Haitian women, Edeline and Isemene, join us for lunch and practice their English skills with directors.

Sunday featured an all-day Cap 1 coaching course held at Epic Volleyball Center, thanks to another Starlings supporter, Charlie Jackson.

Coach Center now online!

In order to facilitate networking and support year-round, the Starlings website now has a Coach Center.

Currently a static page, this resource offers directors and coaches across the country information and resources on a range of subjects, including how to establish a web presence, fundraising and additional programming offered through USA Volleyball.

Directors and coaches are encouraged to submit links and other content to the Coach Center, which will be expanded in June. To do so, or to request a link to the Coach Center, contact support@starlings.org.
