Los Angeles

Los Angeles is the second most populous city in the United States, with 3.8 million people living in the city and 12.9 in the great metropolitan area. After its founding in 1781, it became part of Mexico 30 years later. Only after the Mexican-American War was L.A. and the rest of California purchased as part of the U.S.

L.A. is the center of the entertainment industry, and many movies and television shows are shot there each year. The city has also hosted a pair of Summer Olympics in 1932 and 1984.

Eight Starlings clubs call L.A. home: Carson, City of Los Angeles, Cudahy, Hacienda Heights, Los Angeles West, Ontario, San Gabriel and South Central Los Angeles.
