Letter from Nashville Starlings grandmother
Editor’s note: The following email was sent shortly after Nashville’s Dantriel McWilliams announced Kennetha Wallace and Ceraya Liggett had accepted full-ride scholarships to play volleyball at Cheney University in Pennsylvania.
Dantriel,
I want to thank you again for being the father figure in Ceraya’s life for so long. Yesterday, I wanted to just shout for joy. There really wasn’t a dry eye in the house after listening to you, Coach Morrow, Kennetha and Ceraya. A full scholarship is a wonderful thing. I am thankful to God for her talents as an athlete, but I thank you and Coach Keshia for having her in the right place at the right time to be offered such a blessing. I also want to thank Ms. Pam and Mama Morrow as well. They also showed her a lot of love and guidance. As her granny, I did the best that I could. You know what they say, it takes a village……..thanks again and much love!
