2011 Nationals

Are you ready for some volleyball?

The 14th Annual Starlings National Championship is scheduled for June 17-19 in San Diego, Calif.

The 2011 event will celebrate its 14th year. This year’s event will be held over three days rather than four. Emphasis on participation in the Opening Ceremony, Sister Cities Exchange and annual Literary/Art Contest is expected to take the unique level of fun and friendship to an even higher level in 2011.

We will have four age divisions: 12s, 14s, 16s and 18s.

OPENING CEREMONY

There will be an opening ceremony on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. at Sweetwater High School (School Map PDF | Google Maps: 2900 Highland Ave, National City, CA 91950-7495)

PLAYING SCHEDULE

Pool play will be held Friday (8:30 AM to 9:00 PM) and Saturday (8:30 AM to 9:00 PM). Play continues on Sunday for all teams. The 12s Division will play at Sweetwater High on Saturday and Sunday only (not Friday).

FINALS

Finals of the 12s, 14s, 16s and 18s Divisions will be held on Sunday (1:00 PM to 9:00 PM) at Alliant University.

LITERARY/ART CONTEST

The contest will continue with cash and other prizes. Winners will be announced at the Opening Ceremony.

REGISTRATION

Teams must register by May 15, 2011 with a $300 entry fee per team (non-refundable) and $350 for San Diego teams. The deadline will be enforced since allowing teams after the deadline causes serious bracket problems.

LODGING

Exceptional rates are available at hotels in the Poway and Mission Valley area with a maximum distance of 15 miles to playing sites.
